Message
The LIEFC is in need of members who will
serve on the Board of Directors. Please consider
doing so. We are in need of candidates for all
positions that can attend BOD meetings and take
an active part in Club affairs. Board meetings
are held approximately four times a year to make
decisions regarding the Clubs welfare, or
when deemed necessary a major topic
must be discussed or acted upon.
Of course, compensation is very important. It
consists of (1) satisfaction of contributing to
the LIEFC and (2) knowing that neither money,
goods, or other benefits are paid not even
a "dollar a year." The Long Island
Early Fliers Club is a non-profit, all-volunteer
organization, working to achieve its goal of
preserving Long Island aviation history. The Club
does pay for printing and postage of the
Newsletter and announcements, insurance, and
other necessary expenses relating to meetings.
Please contact Pat Gallagher (516-485-7969) or
Sal Vitale (631-265-2791_ if you will serve as a
member of the Board of Directors or as a
committee member. Because of health, age,
relocation, or other commitments, only a few of
those presently listed as Board members are able
to meet the obligations of the position. We need
people who can attend Board meetings and assist
with the operation of and decisions affecting the
LIEFC so well as others who will perform various
services such as serving on a committee, helping
at picnics and meetings with refreshments and
set-ups, taking inventory of the clubs
artifacts, finding speakers or programs for
meetings, writing articles, etc. The things are
being done by just a few members, and HELP IS
NEEDED.
A sign-up sheet will be at meetings where you can
indicate what you would be willing to do and how
you can be contacted. Your cooperation and
assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Lt. Col. Anthony (Bob) Glaudino, President
