Book
Review
Member Lawrence Hahn (#0660) would like to
recommend a book he recently read.
"Ironworks," by Terry C. Treadwell. As
the name would imply, the subject of this book is
Grumman. Mr. Treadwell has written an excellent
and incredibly detailed treatment of the Grumman
Corporation and its airplanes (and other products
into the space age.) Separate chapters about the
different models of aircraft built include
descriptions of the differences between dash
numbers and even the different versions of power
plants used. Anyone who ever worked at Grumman
will be fascinated by Mr. Treadwells work
and some of the anecdotes about the personalities
that made Grumman the wonderful company, which it
was and will continue to be in the memories of
those who even had the pleasure of working there.
(As Mr. Hahn did for 35 years.) Back
